BOX PLEATED Hidden Rod Pocket Valances: Where Tradition and Beauty Combine

I consider BOX PLEATED valances to be one of the most versatile valance styles that there is. While the clean lines of it’s straight lower edge and it’s boxed shape would normally be seen as very traditional, with the right fabric choice, the valance style can make your home feel modern and elegant! My BOX PLEATED Hidden Rod Pocket valances are always a popular style since they work well in any room of your home. And since they are installed using wide pocket rods instead of boards, they’re easy to ship and simple to install.

These BOX PLEATED Hidden Rod Pocket valances were created using Majorca Denim which is a Waverly fabric that was designed by Ellen Degeneres. This fabric is a customer favorite as I have used it several times to make several different styles of my Hidden Rod Pocket valances.

The Tessa Shadow Luxe Canvas home décor fabric that was used to make these custom BOX PLEATED Hidden Rod Pocket valances for this living room definitely makes a bold statement! I also constructed PINCH PLEATED Panels that were 103″ long to coordinate with the valances. They were used over some sliding glass doors and a wall covered with windows.

These black and tan window valances were made from ready-made panels provided by the customer. Sometimes it’s difficult to find a fabric that suits your taste but if you can find panels that have been made with a quality fabric, they can often be used instead of purchasing a home décor fabric.

Looking at this room makes me think of Spring. The botanical fabric on these BOX PLEATED Hidden Rod Pocket valances give the room a bit of extra flair. If you look closely at the valances in the background photo you can see a closeup detail of the contrast inverted pleats that go with their contrast banded lower edges. The Fern Spring fabric by Braemore has unfortunately been discontinued since I made these but I’m sure that there are similar fabrics to choose from if you want this look for your home.

This BOX PLEATED Hidden Rod Pocket valance was constructed to fit a 104″ rod and was made to hang 14″ long as requested by the customer. The Asha Spring home décor fabric that was used made the valance stand out nicely against the beautiful teal walls! I loved working with this fabric because of the intricate details of the floral fabric and as an added bonus, the fabric was 100% cotton which always works well for any of my valance styles.

This is the valance that started it all, the first BOX PLEATED Hidden Rod Pocket valance that I created. I had made plenty of BOX PLEATED valances for the Interior decorators that I used to collaborate with, but they were always mounted on boards. One of my goals was to create valances that could easily be shipped all over the United States and I wanted them to be suitable for being installed by the homeowner instead of them having to pay an installer to hang them.

When I started creating my Hidden Rod Pocket valances years ago, I never imagined the positive response that I would have when I started taking orders for them online. My customers are my BLESSING, and I will always strive to be their blessing also.
